Treatment Options
At Lions Eye SightFirst Hospital, we offer intravitreal injections as a treatment for wet macular degeneration. These injections utilize medications such as Ranibizumab (Lucentis) or Aflibercept (Eylea), which belong to a group of medicines known as anti-VEGF drugs. Regularly injecting these medications into the eye can help prevent the growth, leakage, and bleeding of abnormal blood vessels under the retina.
