Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus service

The Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus service offers diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of eye diseases and vision problems in children and adolescents including adults suffering from Strabismus.

 

A full complement of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities are available, including treatment for:

  1. Refractive errors (nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism)
  2. Amblyopia (or "lazy eye") evaluation and treatment
  3. Strabismus (crossed eyes, wandering eyes)
  4. Abnormal fusion, depth perception, and other sensory abnormalilties
  5. Double vision
  6. Infections or inflammations of the eye and orbit (e.g., conjunctivitis, cellulitis)
  7. Blocked tear ducts
  8. Congenital malformation of the eye and orbit
  9. Retinopathy of Prematurity
  10. Juvenile cataracts
  11. Injuries to the eye
  12. Eye problems associated with genetic conditions
  13. Eye screening for juvenile diabetics and junvenile rheumatoid arthritis
  14. Eye problems associated with thyroid disorders
  15. Adjustable sutures
  16. Topical anesthesia in selected adult strabismus patients
  17. Pre-operative prism adaptation to increase surgical precision
  18. Binocular vision assessments
